Elek Straub

Elek has been one of the most active individual angel investors in Hungary. His industry knowledge, experience and personality are among the strongest assets of our Fund.

From 1995 to 2006, Elek was the head of the Magyar Telekom Group (Matáv Group), the leading provider of fixed and mobile telecommunications and Internet services in Hungary and other countries in the region. Throughout his 11 years tenure he has overseen multiple rounds of the company’s privatization, it’s IPO at the Budapest and New York Stock Exchange, introduction of state-of-the-art telecommunications technologies and the start of its international expansion.

Before joining Magyar Telekom, Elek was the country general manager of IBM Hungary.
